Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week darling BCBG gets cuddly chic.
-PJ Gach
I hate BCBG. I do. Why? Because I want their entire fall line. If I were (able) to afford it all, I wouldn’t eat until 2023, but it might be worth it.
Why? First of all, the palette. Rich warm reds and browns, deep blues, flashes of yellow (!) mingled with cool taupe, ivory, white, gray and black. Graphic prints, some reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley prints floated over solid color or color blocked pieces.

As an accessory
accent, models wore berets. So cute, so chic and perfect for awful winter days.
The look: Layers, layers, layers. Floaty silk chiffon dresses paired with skinny leather trousers. Chunky long sweaters, jackets and vests intermingled into one, yes, one cohesive look. Call it “Chic Nerd,” call it “Luxe Overdrive,” or call it “Boho Gets Smart,” but you can say that layers never looked so good.
No, you don’t have to wear each and every item exactly as it was shown on the runway. You parse it out. Take that loose summer frock you love, pair it with tight leggings and throw on an open loose baggy sweater and voila! Instant BCBG chic.
BCBG gets that women want to look good; they also want to be warm.
