The Moschino X HM collaboration drops in H&M stores nationwide in November---Get ready!
Looks like November is going to be glitter-ious, that's because the Moschino X HM collaboration will hit stores nationwide on the 8th of that month. Designer Jeremy Scott seems to be channeling 80s music videos; lots of animal prints, chunky gold chains and leather jackets, Think of a video mashup of RunDMC and Poison with a dose of Cyndi Lauper for extra sass.
The campaign's shot by fashion photog/icon Steven Meisel and features a bevy of leggy super models. Look for Gigi Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti, Stella Maxwell, Soo Joo Park, and Imaan Hammam and others featured in social media and ads. Head on over to Moschino's Insta to see more photos.
Here's Gigi Hadid in head-to-toe MoschinoXHM.
And more looks. Yup, everything from head-to-toe will be at HM stores on November 8th---for about 20 seconds--then swarms of customers will grab it all.
Moschino is the latest in a long line of designer collaborations with H&M. Other big names that created capsule collections include Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo, Balmain, and Alexander Wang. Out of that group, Wang seemed to have the most stuff hanging around the stores for weeks--the line in dark gray and black, looked like sad overpriced workout wear. The Jimmy Choo collab, while visually appealing, was created with H&M materials, not the usual Choo stuff. I was told that whilst the shoes etc., were gorgeous to look at, the shoes were painful, felt inexpensive and didn't last through normal wear. Let's hope this collab is better constructed.
While the idea of a lower-priced collaboration with a high end designer seems like a dream; fabulous fashion for all. In the end, the dream falls short. The fabrics and construction are poor cousins to the real deal. The prices for the collab is generally jacked up, and for the most part, it doesn't last.
Let's hope that this collab has more substance, ie better fabrication and construction. Otherwise, the items will be lucky to last a season.
