Awarding winning Canadian designer Dan Liu kicked off his Autumn/Winter 2017 fashion show with a performance by dancer Irakli Shengelia. In addition to modern dance, Liu included a tribute to George Michael and a fairy model.
The inspiration of his fall collection was an exploration and retelling age old fairy tales modernized in prêt-à-porter. His monochromatic palette was broken up by an occasional dash or red or brilliantly patterned scarves.
Standout looks included a patterned romper named “Pink Starfish, “Polka Elf II,” a sleeveless polka dot cocktail dress and another cocktail dress named, “Xmas Magic.”
The show ended when Liu sang at the end of the show, his vocal abilities was greeted by enthusiastic applause.
