Vietnamese fashion designer Mimi Tran premiered a new collection at Sixty LES Hotel in Tribeca. This is her fourth year premiering a new collection at New York Fashion Week. Known for designing evening gowns and cocktail attire, Tran specializes in “dresses that sculpt the body and accentuate feminine curves.”
Called the Flourescence Collection, Tran showcased several colorful evening gowns and finished with three bridal gowns as part of a “Limited Bridal Edition”. The show began with simple, elegant black cocktail dresses with lace and organza, and moved on to display bright pops of yellow, green, blue, and red sequins and hand-beaded florals. Tran ended the show in all white with stunning bridal gowns.
Standouts included a long sleeve deep neck black dress with a floral print, a long sleeve black dress with colorful hand-beaded floral and a scoop neck, and a gorgeous finale showcasing a flowered white bridal gown accessorized with a silver crown.
Tran said she was inspired to make the collection after designing the clothes for Kelsea Ballerini’s “Yeah Boy” music video, which is known for it’s use of bright colors. All of her creations “empower femininity, pay tribute to modern glamour, and feel as good to wear as they look.”
Mimi Tran will be showing this collection next week in London for Fashion Week. See more of her elegant looks at: mimitrandesign.com
