Alica Bell’s shirts and dresses are romantic, preppy and chic.
Designer Alicia Bell studied (I mean, really studied) fashion design at Parsons and worked for Vivienne Westwood before striking out on her own. The designer mixes up classic preppy tropes like anchors, eyelet and rugby stripes with Boho Indian prints, festival ready tunics and retro ladylike ruffles. The result is a collection for you and your little one that you’ll want to live in all summer.
Her line is versatile, you can wear her separates with anything, and they’ll take you from day to night with ease. That might be why Madonna’s a big fan. She owns this plaid shirt, the Lia—my awful photo from the press preview and what it looks like on a model.
One of my favorite pieces from the preview was this dress—it’s 60s chic, reminded me of Jackie Kennedy. And even though my photo isn’t a match (by any means!)for the one with the model, take a look at the details. Scrumptious.
More photos of gorgeous clothes after the jump!
Here’s more of her spring and summer line; you can see why moms and daughters have been known to fight over Bell’s clothing. There’s something for everyone. When you visit her site, you’ll see that many items can be customized too.
You can find the Bell Collection on their site, Bloomingdale’s online, in select Bloomies and at Anthropologie. 5% of every web sale on the Bell Collection site goes to the Sylvie Cachay Memorial Project.
