Ha! According to Ildi, this is a huge beauty myth. Once you hit puberty, you officially have your adult size pores. There are ways to reduce the appearance of your pores, but you can’t shrink them down.
What to do: Get a deep cleansing facial once a month to clear your pores. Use Retinol-A overnight to aid in reducing the appearance of larger pores, but understand that that is only a temporary effect.
2. You have to switch your skin care products to have good skin.
The truth according to Ildi is that your skin doesn’t adapt to a skin care product. You don’t need to keep switching regimens to have gorgeous skin. As long as the product contains healthy ingredients that are beneficial for your skin, it will always be beneficial for your skin.
3. Pillows cause wrinkles
When you put pressure on your skin overnight it does cut back circulation, which then can cause puffiness and wrinkles. Keep your pillow, but Ildi recommends sleeping on your back to avoid wrinkles! If you have issues with that, try a satin pillow case.
4. Toothpaste dissolves zits.
The menthol ingredient in toothpaste is the only thing that can reduce the appearance of the breakout. The rest of the ingredients can be very irritating for the skin, and may even cause more breakouts. Instead use a mix of baking soda and honey to cleanse the area of bacteria, hydrate it, and it heal it over time. And don’t pick pimples! Not only could that lead to scarring, but you can actually spread the bacteria under your skin, causing further eruptions.
