10 gowns that belonged to Princess Diana will go on auction soon, how much do you think they'll go for?
10 gowns worn by Princess Diana are up for auction today at Kerry Taylor Auctions in London. Yes, even the gown that she wore when she danced with John Travolta at the White House!
They're beautiful, but impractical. You can't wear them to the market or the office. Unless you have Princess Diana's willowy, leggy frame, you don't want to wear them. The idea of cutting them down, tailoring them to fit almost seems like a crime. What can you do with them? Besides pet them?
When they were first put up for auction, Maureen Rorech Dunkel bought these same 10 dresses back in 1997. Her idea was twofold: an investment and to create a roving exhibition. Unfortunately, she lost money instead of gaining any.
The ten gowns are estimated to fetch around $1 million dollars. Auctioneer Kerry Taylor told the Huffington Post (UK), "It's probably the last time that these 10 Diana dresses will be seen together because after the auction obviously they'll probably be scattered across the world.
"In a way it's like a little history of Diana's life through her clothes."
