Start saving your pennies; Kenzo, H&M's next big designer collab hits their stores November 3, 2016. Get up-to-the-minute menswear and womenswear designs from Kenzo for less.
Kenzo, who once used circus tents to hold his fashion shows (1978, 1979) has been picked to be the newest designer to create a capsule collection for H&M. The original Kenzo retired from fashion in 1999 to become a fine artist. His style and legacy has been carried on by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim,the founders of Opening Ceremony and the Creative Directors of Kenzo. As an aside, haven't you ever wondered how one or two people can design for more than one fashion line?? Yeah, me too!
Leon and Lim have been with the fashion brand for the past five years. While Kenzo the brand creates clothing for men, women and kids, the H&M collab will only produce clothing and accessories for adults. I think a dream customer is a new customer. When asked who their dream customer was, Carol Lim replied, "We don’t have one girl in mind. And we never have. The more people that discover the brand and come to love the rich history behind the brand and what we’ve created—to us, that’s exciting.”
If you're not familiar with the brand, here's a quick example of summer wear. The babydoll dress is $990.00. The men's chino runway pant is $245.
You can count on H&M to keep the prices much, much lower.
