Finally! Makeup bases that are weightless and give you glowing skin.

You can't tell that I'm wearing foundation, can you!
We all know that achieving the "I just woke up like this" look takes a few products to do it right. Trying to create to make a flawless natural look and finding a foundation that's kind to your skin when it's hot and sticky can make you crazy. You want glowing skin, but don't want to clog your pores. Say hello to Orlane Paris Teint Absolu Treatment Foundation and Pixi by Petra H2O Skin Tint. Both deliver gorgeous results.
Orlane Paris Teint Absolu Treatment Foundation ($70, Orlane Paris) is more than a lightweight base that instantly creates a flawless complexion; it's also an anti-aging tool. Hyaluronic acids are part of its recipe. Day after day of using it, you'll notice smoother, more radiant looking skin. Instead of dotting on concealer, use a bit more of this potion on the area that you want to fix and within seconds, the shade adjusting formula fixes it.
I've used it during hideously hot days, it doesn't melt, it doesn't fade away. What it does do is make my skin look vibrant, healthy and glowing. Even when I'm dragging my feet. Now if I could only dip my body in this elixir. And if that doesn't do it for you, Robin Wright (House of Cards) used this during Award Season and fell in love with it!
Pixi by Petra H2O Skin Tint ($24, Pixi by Petra) feels like a feather against your skin. Water-based and made with green tea, rose water and English chamomile, even sensitive skin will love it. Like the Orlane base, it's a hydrating base that lets your skin breathe while giving you glowing skin.
However, it dries very quickly on your skin. To ensure that your application isn't spotty, you must apply it in small amounts to specific areas on your face, then blend...fast.
Like the Orlane foundation, it won't wilt in the heat, it's water-resistant, so it will stand up against sweat. Because it's sheer, you may want to use a concealer to make dark circles or zits vanish. One day, I used the Orlane Paris Teint Absolu Treatment Foundation over an uneven spot on my nose and within seconds, my face glowed.
Both of these products will make your skin look radiant and healthy. If you want the added punch of an anti-aging hydrating treatment locked into your base, then grab the Orlane Paris Teint Absolu Treatment Foundation. Need just light coverage and you've also got sensitive skin, Pixi by Petra H20 Skin Tint will be your new BFF.

Beards may be here to stay! How do you feel about that?
With a guy who has a beard? Does it ever feel like it's you, him and the beard? Braun recently surveyed 1000 New York City men on how they feel about their beards. The grooming company found out that 9% of the guys they surveyed grew a beard because their friends did (hmmm), 67% grew a beard because it was easier to than shaving and yes, some men were given the ultimatum, "lose the beard, or lose me."
If you live in New York City like I do, you'll notice lots of furry faces. Braun 's survey also revealed which borough is the hairiest! Here's the breakdown:
Comes in as the most clean shaven of all the boroughs. 61% of the men surveyed had some facial hair. Where does all that hair live? Believe it or not, in the tony Upper East Side! 64% of beards live uptown, 60% of beards hang around the Upper East.
This may not come as a surprise to New York City women, according to the survey, Bronx men consider themselves hawter than the rest of Manhattan. The majority of respondents gave themselves an 8 out of 10 for looks. That borough also believes in keeping facial hair for life.
You guessed it! Guys in this borough will be the FIRST to dump facial hair when the trend stops being cool. And it must be something about this borough, because they're the ones who get the "lose the beard or lose me," and "It's either the beard or the job" showdowns!
What's the hottest beard style? How many men grow beards 'cause their fave Hollywood Hero has one? Check out the infographic for that info and more after the jump!
Mornings don't have to be cringe worthy anymore. Wake up to the scent of Tiare flowers and Mandarin oranges from Dove.
One whiff of the new Dove Go Fresh Revitalize Me Body Wash in your morning shower, and the day seems a bit brighter. The scent is the uplifting fragrance of fresh Mandarin oranges mixed with the flirty and femme Tiare flowers. Let me stop for a second and just say this--Dove, you make the best smelling soaps and deodorants, could you please use those scents to make fragrance splashes or matching eau de toilettes, please? um, okay, back to the article.
This body wash is more than just a body wash. When you shower, it's moisturizing your skin. Unlike other body washes that claim to do the same thing, but the good stuff and the suds go down the drain. See the mandarin rinds below? Guess which ones were washed with Dove Go Fresh Revitalize Me?
Yup, the supple ones. How it works? Dove's cleansers are combined with NutriumMoisture technology, so your skin feels softer after the first time you use it. You're cleansing your skin while you're hydrating it.
Prefer to use bar soap?
You get the same citrus scent as the body wash and because you're using a Dove beauty bar, you get 1.4 moisturizing cream. That in turns makes skin supple and feels firmer over time.
If you visit the Dove site you can print out a $1 off coupon for next purchase.
Swish! Swish! That’s the sound of an eye-catching charm bracelet making someone come hither!
Charm bracelets are here again. The femme and fun trend of the 50s and early 60s; where women collected gold be-gemmed poodles, telephones and painter's palettes, baby shoes and other charms, then wore them on a heavy gold bracelets is becoming popular again. This time around, charm bracelets are coming pre-charmed and everything has a modern twist.
The main photo (above) is one of one of the windows at Fred Leighton Jewels on New York City's Upper East Side. Those bracelets have a theme, like the one below.
New ones have themes like the ocean or shoes. I've rounded up 9 charm bracelets--including a few vintage items that I think you'll love. There's charm bracelets from Guess, Katy Perry, Vera Wang, and Alexander McQueen, just to name a few. See them all after the jump.
